Here is a thing you cannot see in any photograph and will not think about until it is a problem: what exactly is between your suite and the one next to it.
Here it is reinforced concrete block, floor to roof.
What that does to sound
Mass is the only honest answer to noise. Not insulation, not a resilient channel, not a thicker door. Mass. Block has it, and the difference is obvious the first time you are in a suite while somebody is running an impact gun in the next one.
Practically, it means you can work when you want to work. Grinder at nine at night, compressor cycling, exhaust note at idle while you chase something down, a stereo turned up because there is nobody to apologize to. That is most of the reason people wanted a place like this to begin with.
It also runs in the other direction. Your neighbor’s band saw is your neighbor’s problem.
The same wall does another job
Mass is also thermal. A block wall holds temperature instead of trading it back and forth with whatever is happening on the other side, so heating your space is simpler and cheaper, and it stays where you set it. One material, two problems.
And because it is the same wall we have talked about elsewhere, it is doing the fire separation work at the same time. Nothing about it is a specialty assembly. It is just block, done properly.
Bring something loud
